Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the LitPath mobile application (the “App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Beta Program

LitPath is currently in beta. This means:

  • The App may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features
  • Features may change, be added, or removed without notice
  • Service interruptions may occur during maintenance or updates
  • We appreciate your feedback to help us improve — please report issues to support@litpath.app

Account Registration

  • A parent or guardian must create an account to use the App
  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create a parent account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration

Child Profiles

  • Child profiles may only be created by a parent or guardian with a valid account
  • Parents are responsible for supervising their children’s use of the App
  • Child profiles use nicknames only — do not enter your child’s real name

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access other users’ accounts or data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App
  • Use automated systems to access the App (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Upload or transmit harmful content through any App feature

Intellectual Property

  • All content in the App, including books, illustrations, the Lumi character, and the LitPath brand, are owned by or licensed to LitPath
  • Your use of the App does not grant you ownership of any content
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from App content

Subscriptions and Payments

  • Certain features may require a paid subscription
  • Subscription terms and pricing will be clearly displayed before purchase
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • Refund policies are governed by the applicable app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store)

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • LitPath is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months prior to the claim
  • This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law

Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Quebec.

Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the App settings
  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms
  • Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
